My DROID X has my want list and access to NumisMedia.

This is all I really need.

Well, and money, of course. (Good call, John!)

I agree with all of the above.

Since I tend to buy bullion and unslabbed BU silver, at the last show I bought along 2 pairs of disposable gloves, cotton and latex. I don't think it's right to handle a dealer's raw coins even by the edges with bare hands. Some dealers cases are not only disorganized, but seem greasy and sticky and handling a lot of raw silver can quickly dirty your hands.

do dealers really take credit cards at shows? I've never tried using one, but I've listened to many of them telling customers they don't take them (at least on particular purchases... bullion for example).

I just bring my nook.

I keep my greysheet in pdf format, my want list and any references on my nook.
Every show I've been to has internet access so I can also use the online pice references.

I'd like to add that I bring my old copy of Photograde-it's more conservative than many dealers today, and if I get into negotiations over a coin I will reference that if I feel a dealer or TPG is "pushing" the grade a little. This will most likely happen if you're looking at a key, or semi key date.

depends on several things. Mostly if you are a regular customer. At some shows dealers that know you will take personal checks, money orders, credit cards and even cash.
Usually if they don't know you they will reject most of those.

The 1914-D Lincoln Cent that I almost bought a couple of years ago was a little more than I wanted to pay, and probably more importantly, a bit more than I had on me. The dealer said "I take plastic" and I was almost tempted, although I have never used plastic to buy a coin other than from the US Mint.

Suitcase on a two wheeled cart. And I am frequently trying to find more ways to condense what I have because I keep trying to add more.

Since I collect the heavily counterfeited 8 Reales my gear is more anti counterfeit oriented.

Good move since if you really don't know that dealer, may never see him again, and there he would be with all your personal information. Some people laugh and say it could never happen to me but identity theft if now in the millions per year so it is always best to be safe, not sorry.

He is actually a dealer that I have bought from before and have been seeing him at the local show since the late 1990's. I should add that by the next show I did have extra cash, but the cent had already been sold.

However, you offer good advice. There have been plenty of "dealers" that I have seen just once. One can only imagine what kind of trouble they may have caused someone.
