I would have to guess VF-30 on the low end. I have several of these and do collect the VF-XF specimens. On a good day, XF40 wouldn't be out of the park either, it's real close IMO.

Pretty coin, but I'll leave the grading to the experts. I would like to point out that this particular design is a Type II (six lines visible above the ribbon on the shield) as opposed to a Type I (5 lines visible above the ribbon.)

Interesting point Flip. I had never noticed such before. Was this design limited to the dimes, or did the quarters and halves also have a similar design change?

XF-45 dark. The corn on the back is an indicator of wear vs less ewar.

What's up with that mintmark? It's the squarest "S" I've seen.
