But bought this and 4 others today.. was going dirt cheap so got it just to satisfy the urge. From coins-of-the-uk.co.uk: There are three reverse types for the George IV issues, differing in the representation of the St Patrick's cross on the shield: -No central line in saltire (1825, 1826 and 1827) -Thin central line in saltire (1826) -Thick central line in saltire (1826) I cant quite figure out which one this is. Sap Moderator Australia 16894 Posts	Posted 06/21/2012 09:15 am The "saltire" or "St Patrick's Cross" is the X-shaped component of the Union Jack design on the shield, as opposed to the "cross" (the +-shape). If you look at an actual Union Jack flag, you'll notice the red stripes on the saltire are much thinner than the red stripes on the cross. The varieties of this coin attempt to illustrate this in different ways. The three varieties of this coin are: No extra line in saltire, thick extra line in saltire and thin extra line in saltire. Your coin is a little worn, but clear enough to see that it's the "plain" type.
