What would have caused that? Is there any thing on the obverse tht could clash there? They dont look like die cracks either? Possibly very thick metal flow lines?

How long would it take you to go through 1000 half pennies looking for errors Rob? I have a few I'm going to launch soon but youre welcome to have a look through em first. I've only checked dates and looked for any really obvious errors. You can have what ever you find.

This is the third coin I looked at in my Half Penny group not sure of the grade, but I'm knew at this. It also seems to be struck a little off center, a lot of stretching and something going on near the rim.

Here is another I found in this last group I have been going through: I went to my local coin club meeting last night, we usually have 8 to 10 dealers setup each meeting. The world coin dealer/club expert had only 2 Australian penny and no Half penny, I was pretty disappointed. He promised to do better next month now that he knows someone is interested in them.

Hello enworb, does your 62 have the same reverse die fill as mine?

Thanks for the pic, the two coins are almost identical, I have a lot of researching to do, didn't know Perth Mint strikes were weaker than others. I have a lot to learn about Australian die making, materials, and striking. I sure appreciate all the help, Dave
