I tried posting online asking to buy pennies. The ad listed about a week before some competing person reported my ad as "breaking the rules". The moderators removed it. Then, when I searched for pennies, I found essentially my ad up there but from another poster (probably the one who had claimed my ad contravened some rule or other).

score and score. another good penny find. a woman contacted me saying that her daughter was saving up pennies to donate to a local kids hospital. The kid couldn't wipe the smile off her face when I handed over 115 dollars for 104 dollars worth of pennies.(5Ā¢over-RollPrice-roundedup) Man, I feel good about myself! I am straining my eyes though! rofl

I have about 34 boxes of pennies that we picked up from the banks before they selling them. Have yet to go through them, wouldn't it be nice to find a super oldie in one of the boxes.

How the heck do you guys talk the bank tellers into giving up their pennies? I know they are not supposed to so what do you do? Bribes? Gifts? Sweet talk? I have seen penny bags multiple times on my rounds and have never been able to get them to part with them. Maybe it is because I live in Ottawa or something... People like to obey the rules here I suppose.

I have a good teller I go to always for my pickups. I guess giving her Starbucks gift cards for Xmas helps ;)

I have a nice teller as well. She will save all pennies and nickels for me to purchase. She even notifies me when the stock is getting too large for the bank to keep. She works at another bank as well part time and brings boxes of pennies from that bank too. These are small banks so I can usually keep up.

Well, in my compary, our "penny" is called a fils. No one has them.. I seriously still do not know where all of them go. They minted millions of them. Where the heck are they gone. Although it is a circulating currency, we locals consider it a collectable to own. That is how hard it is to find it.

I just went through a box of pennies that have been sitting around waiting for me to search and was extremely happy with the results. The first roll had about 10 older pennies in it and all the rolls were in the same wrap so I was stoked.... The end result from 1 box,,,,,
290 Canadian pennies from 1937-1959 95 USA Wheat pennies from 1915-1958 3 Foreign coins A bunch of MS like 1960's pennies
I have not checked for varieties yet. Some nice saves from the melting pot!
