Very pretty coin - I wonder how it would do in circulation? But since it is a limited edition silver proof it will never get the chance.
I love to study the process of wear and I really like to watch coins as the detail is eroded. A really beautiful coin is one that ages well. That is one reason why I like the Maria Theresa Thaler - it actually looks good (oe better) as the details wear away.
Perhaps that is why I avoid the high mirror surfaces of modern proofs.

there are two types of collections. Coins of circulation and commemoratives. Collectors of circulation coins prefer the history of a coin, I prefer the design and the originality. Those are two manners of seeing the numismatie. But I respect those which prefer the history and which collect the old circulation coins. This an example of diversity of Chinese coins :   |

Stunning coins, including the last post from Spica. I love the detail and look of them all, just makes me want to collect everything but I have to keep reminding myself of my priorities in collecting since I have to allocate the dollars according to my income (which is limited)
