its probably just a gas bubble. When the experts wake up, you should get their opinion.

My initial reaction is gas bubble also. I have had them make some interested designs and appear in interesting places. I can usually "pop" them for confirmation if I so choose.

i think its not a gas bubbles sir I already try to put pressure but no pop effect happen

They dont always have to pop. It exhibits the characteristics of a gas bubble versus a damaged die (or any other explination) for me. Someone else may have a different opinion. Also, seeing the reverse of the coin in some cases with this characteristic could be helpful.

Whether it is a die chip or gas bubble, it adds no value to the coin. Sorry.

Its a copper planchet coin. So it wouldn't be a gas bubble.

I am really surprised so many folks said gas bubble ,gas bubbles happen on the copper plated cents from 1982 till present anything before 82 was struck on a solid bronze planchet not a copper coated zinc planchet so this has to be a die chip
