I know, some of you, will find also some magnetic coins. But some people don't believe about it. That's why the glass of water visual test is important. Those two coins is a Presidential dollar and a Sacagawea dollar.

He is demonstrating that he has two dollar coins that have enough magnetic attraction to a rare earth magnet that they can support their own weight agaist the pull of gravity. Now the question is, have they been plated with nickel and then gold plated, or do they have a high enough manganese content (error in the alloy) to be attracted to the magnet. pictures are not going to tell us.

Yeheep Conder101. That is the reason. At this point I have two questions. THE MINT IT SELF. Do they Gold-plated coins? And the second question is... If this two coins were plated after leave the Mint. Why the Presidential dollar Weight is too low? (8.04 Grams). wish is less than the normal standard 8.10 grams for all those dollars.

52Raymo. The water is only to demonstrate where the Power of physical attraction is pointing. Because a friend of mine when saw the pictures the first time. He believed that. The coins were "over" the magnet. and No "under" the magnet. And then only I was turning 90 deg. the position of the pictures.

8.1 is the specified weight of the Sac dollar, but the mint has a tolerance range on the Sac of +/- .3 grams so a Sac dollar that weighs anywhere from 7.8 to 8.4 grams is within the proper weight range. Your 8.04 gram coin is well within tolerance.
