I've been considering dipping my toe into the Colonial Waters for a while. I had a chance to pick up a couple locally for a decent price so I took the plunge. Before I get any deeper I'd like to pick up a reference book or two. Any recommendations?
Have not purchased it myself, but it's next up on my list of books to get: The Whitman Encyclopedia of Colonial and Early American Coins by Q. David Bowers
I'm sure vermontensium will have some good recommendations here soon as well.
I do have Crosby's book "Early coins of America", but not the easiest to read, it was the first true book on United States coinage, and it's in my library for that reason alone.
