Mercury dimes are my favorite. Though I hoard any silver coins like a dragon haha. I love how old silver coins tone, so I'm not that interested in rounds, maple leafs, American eagles etc. I'm severely tempted to collect silver Washington quarters seeing how full my dealers junk silver tray is of them.

Some type collectors don't have a particular favorite coin, although they may have a few 'stars' in their collection. The attraction is the statement they make as a whole.

I will join the "its my avatar" club. I really like the Stone Mountain Commemorative Half Dollar, and its story. I have several raw and graded. On a clear day, I can see Stone Mountain from my house.

Gold Sovereigns.
I'm never going to get a full collection together because the true rarities are extremely expensive but I'm hoping to get an example from each monarch from 1816-present.
Or I might just keep collecting the ones with the Victoria "young head" portrait as it's such a nice design

I agree with Sel, I particularly like a completed type set from a country. Small sets like St. Pierre and Miquelon or Bohemia and Moravia, or the two I recently completed, Czech Republic and Federal Rep. of Germany.

Can't decide between Mercs and Morgans, I also like any Pre-1933 US Gold.

Sheesh! that is a tough one. Would be easier to say what my least favorite series is.

Based on my avatar, you would think that the Morgan dollar was my favorite. Well, it actually is my favorite coin, but my favorite series to actively collect would have to be the Eisenhower dollar. This series, imo, represents the best of what coin collecting has to offer. There are 34 coins to the set. The set isn't too small nor is it too big. You get a nice variety of silver proofs, silver uncirculated, and Cu-Ni clad coins. The Ike series is affordable on any budget. Also, I can't remember the last time I worried about buying a counterfeit Ike dollar. And I do remember spending these as a kid at the community grocery. My papa used to give my brother and I a couple of Ike dollars for helping him crush soda cans. The Ike series is just waiting for people to enjoy collecting it.

My passion is Mercury dimes. I also am doing a 7070 which I have really enjoyed putting together.

Rolls of red, lusterous Lincoln Memorial Cents (1959-2008). In my sleep I collect Double Eagles.

Thank you Scott, I think so too, that's why I collected them all. :)
