3 Reasons You Should Have at Least 2 ebay ID's

First let me say that it is 100% allowed, you just need a different email address for additional accounts.

1) If you sell on ebay you should never buy with your selling ID. If you run into a seller that you must leave a less than positive feedback for, you may get a less than positive feedback in return. This can be devastating to your seller account but doesn't hurt your buyer account.

2) If you buy and sell on ebay, as a seller, you don't want your buyers to be able to look up what you paid for an item.

3) You need to have a secret buyer ID because believe it or not there are buyer stalkers. If you're very good at spotting deals, like die varieties and errors, you'll want to use a discrete buying ID to buy those coins. If someone slick catches on to your smarts, they will follow you.

Please, get together another email address right now and do it, so I don't have to post a link back to this thread and say "I told you so" after one of these things happens to you.

Register right now here.

Thanks for the information Bobby.

You bring up some good points when it comes to selling and buying on ebay.

I had no idea, I could have a second account.

How do you get a secret buying account? I might do this after I gain some more feedback on my main account.

So worth it right when I started selling for the first time. Takes a bit to get used to signing off and on again to make sure you ain't buyin with the sellin.

Just one that you keep to yourself for "steals".

G'day, I understand yoour first & second points.

But: "3) You need to have a secret buyer ID because believe it or not there are buyer stalkers. If you're very good at spotting deals, like die varieties and errors, you'll want to use a discrete buying ID to buy those coins. If someone slick catches on to your smarts, they will follow you."

Let's say that I'm a "Smart Buyer" (I wish ...). How does another potential buyer stalk me ?

It usually starts with someone you buy from. They happen to notice from your feedback that you buy and sell on ebay. They see you buy a Morgan from them for $25, then assign a nice VAM to it, and sell it for $65. Upon further investigation they see that you buy another coin that's in the wrong category with a lousy title and triple your money on that one.

So now, they figure "This guy is slick and doing all the work so I'll just follow him." Before you know it, now you have bidding competition on all your buys.

Trust me it happens, it happened to Susan, since she is incredibly good at cherry picking ebay. In fact, in the last month or so a new independent service has launched that will follow buyers for you. I refuse to promote it here though.

Since Paypal acct's are tied to your email address can you tie one Paypal acct to different ebay ID's, or would you need a seperate Paypal acct as well?

I took your advice and opened a new account. It made sense. Couple of times I didn't leave neg/nutral feedback since they would do the same for me and I didn't want to ruin my score.
