Perhaps, the release of massive multiple "looney" tunes series at one time, has contributed to some of the intense "lunatic-looney" charged reactions within this thread... All good folks! Red...you may have stemmed the tide...and refocused the discussion a tad... Thank you for your contribution to this forum today... I appreciate the effort especially since you 're not great with computers... No doubt RCM will some day make best efforts to put out a series on great musicians... What might hold them back though is the various trademark hurdles with each respective artist, and/or record label...and inherent commission kick back for each respective artist...etc. I like the 1/2 oz 8 coin set...as most popular characters included, and included box for each character includes a famous catchphrase for the character...very cool.

Quote: Ok, well on to the next big drama lol, Looney Tunes is pretty much over. LT release for general public - the one before last episode of the drama (the last one will be related to delivery / situation on the sec market) @Justsilver: all the list, related to the Superman - is it your assumption, or knowledge from some source?

Silveroid, I am just kidding based on RCM releases of so many Loonie Tunes' coins. But in case I am right, I might change my career to fortune teller. lol.

Well this is the start of my day and after reading through the new posts today I must say I'm surprised at some of the comments, especially from the "Moderator" attacking RFD. One must remember that CCF is a "Numismatic" forum that has a sale aspect to it and RFD is after all a "Sales" forum with a numismatic thread in it.
Back to the topic at hand, I have to say that I really like the Looney Toons coins, growing up in Northern Ontario we had 2 TV stations on our B&W tv (French and English) and Saturday morning cartoons was an important part of the week for us kids. I am on the fence on which to purchase though, the 1oz set with the watch or the 1/2oz set with the additional characters. My budget only allows for 1 set. I'm leaning towards the 1oz set because I think it may retain more of it's value

Just noticed that the RCM website has a Disney 1 kg coin minted elsewhere for a few hundred dollars cheaper. It has a higher mintage. Made me wonder if I'd pay extra for the same coin just for the lower mintage. When we are talking kilo coins, does mintage matter as much?

I don't think mintage would matter so much for kg coins as the market for them is much smaller - That Mickey coin being sold by RCM is from New Zealand

Why is the 1kilo tunes coin so expensive? Last time I check silver was still dropping in price.

I'm guessing the cost of creating the die, paying the artist etc. doesn't really depend upon the price of silver. So no matter what the price of silver is, there is a fixed minimum cost to the Mint. I'm actually seriously debating buying the kilo silver to keep for myself. Just want to see an actual picture of the coin first instead of going on RCM stock images. The blueprints with the coin will make it worth it in my opinion.

I think, nothing here will keep it's value (by this I mean to be offered for issue after couple of years). Better, choose the set if you really like all the coins in it, or buy the mix of the formats (2oz, 1oz, 1/2oz).

Quote: in my opinion, RFD represents the bottom feeders of the hobby (e.g., how many "flippers" there actually claim their profits as taxable income?) Ouch. I know elk hurt your feeling but there's no need to brand every users on RFD as the bottom feeders of the hobby. I wonder if you would feel the same to those flipping coins in this forum. Elk actually originally from this forum and he flip many coins before moving over to RFD. After all, this forum does have a feature that allow users to put their ebay Store name for others to buy coins from. As for claiming taxable income, you seems to forget there are those that flipping coins with a losses. People tend to forget that CCF and RFD are two different entities and thus cater to different users. I know there are folks from both forum think there's a clear simple choice, you either be in CCF camp or RFD Camp. In reality, many of us are in both camps and thus we visit both forums. there's no needs to bash each other. I visit both forums because they both caters to my needs and offer difference point of view on the hobby that I like. It's true, folks on RFD tends to focus more on the economic side of the hobby where as folks on CCF focus more on the hobby it self. There's nothing wrong with either sides. The way I look at it, the more I know, the better educated I am when come to deciding whether to buy the coin or not. It's easy to say buy what you like but when you have limited budget and family, you try to find ways to stretch out the money you have for the hobby. Back on LT Coins, I only liked and ordered the gold coin. I have to say I am a bit or slightly disappointed with the picture I saw yesterday on RCM site. I will wait to see the coin in hand and if it is pixilated, I'll return it. I am not sorry for doing that as it is my right to return or cancel the coins if I changed my mind. I know some are disappointed that they couldn't get some of these coins because people ordering it and cancelling it, but it is what it is. I like to complained that I can't get Tickets to the Sens's playoff game when it first released to the season ticket holder. As I am sure some of those that purchased the playoff tickets to resell or some sell them to their friends as the Sens are now 0-3 in this series. I can't complain as those season ticket holders have to endure many horrid games in the early part of the season and spend quite a few $$ for those season tickets. Those that get a chance to buy these coins early are those that had spend lots of money on coins to get the opportunity to buy these coins.
