Should The 1999 Quarter Be Apart Of A 20th Century Type Set?

My bad, the actual board is 11" X 14". The earlier dimensions I gave were for the wood frame.

Gyene7483, Thats an awesome set!! I see it has two Standing Liberty quarters and an extra Jefferson nickel, whats the difference? I like how it included the raise ground in the Buffalo nickel.

As requested, here is my 20th century type coins. Note: the board is sitting backwards in the frame so I could take a shot without the glass. My first 20th century collection was done back in the late 1960s early 1970s when I was in Boy Scouts and when I had a paper route. I eventually rolled the collection into a Dansco 7070 album (which still has a lot of empty holes). I wanted a nice wall display, so this was the result. The last hole I just filled was the Barber half. Those are getting hard to find in the higher grades when you're on a tight budget.

As for using proofs, that's entirely up to you. Personally, I would hate to crack open the proof sets for a type collection. Since you plan to make your own board, maybe you could make the holes to fit airtight coin holders to help preserve the proofs?

you can find proofs already cracked open on ebay at low prices. not sure if ill do that.

I thought about getting a board sized to fit airtite capsules. The thickness of the capsule creates problems with framing and then the actual board needs to be thicker and then the price of that goes up.

I came up with a layout for my custom 20 century board, its similar to your board, not exact though. once a get the graphic design part done i'll post a pic.

Should be a great project. I hope to see it when you're done.
