First off let me say I hate edge lettering but I like the dollar coin, go figger, well any way I got a roll of dollar coins and I noticed this one coin the stars were off there are extra stars and they are closer together hope ya can make them out, this coin is like a AU 55 and the edge takes the worse beating

It's weird because the unum looks normal I would like to see all of the edge. Because usually it's either doubled all the way around or you have misaligned edge lettering. But to have double and the last section looks like three stars ? It's odd can we get pictures all the way around it ple ASE

Ok, now things are getting weird. Maybe it shifted during the hubbing process.

Looks like slipped edge lettering/improperly spaced...how's the rest of the edge?

I think this would be called a, if I am correct on the shifted during hubbing process, a shifted hubbing error. I really don't know, MikeDiomand! Coop! Ken! Where are you! My expertise is not enough!

If you check the edge 180 degrees away from the area where the stars are too close, you will most likely find a wider gap between letters or words. This is caused by slippage of the coin as the edge die is being pressed into it. It has nothing to do with hubbing of the edge die.

I always thought it was a color, not an edge die.
