Greetings,
I have a 1965 dime. If you look at it sideways its as thick as a nickel. It also has about80% band of copper running around it.I think maybe it was pressed with to much force?because it has ridges on both sides and like a bowl feature(meaning both sides can hold water without coming out.The 5 in 1965 is not fully shown. The bottom 5 is missing.I am sorry for the discription the best with my limited knowledge. If a picture is needed. I will do my best to get it here.
I do thank you for looking,
Bruce

Greetings Again,
It is just my luck my daughter loaned her camera out until Thursday.I have a scanner, but do not think the scanner would really be able to show everything.I will make sure to check back soon as she gets it back.
Thank you,
Bruce

Hi Bruce

To add a photo to this thread, scroll to the bottom left hand side of the page, choose reply to this topic, when the dialog box appears, add whatever you want for description, scroll down to see, insert image file, click on that , browse to choose your file, and upload,, image must be less than 100kb, I find that around 50 to 70 upload quite fast on my old dial up.

Thats it !! then do not preview post ,but just reply !!

Rick

Before I see the pic I'm going to make a guess......it is probably a spooned coin. If you take a spoon and tap the edge of a coin it will roll over the edges like you are describing. Do it long enough, and drill out the center, you have made a ring.

I hope you can post a pic so I can see if I'm right

Becky,
I am at my daughters mercy right now waiting for her to take the darn pictures.I guess I should have described the coin as having a raised ridge, thick as a nickel,75-80% copper band running around and no reeding.I hope tonite we can get those pictures up.It wouldn't surprise me for it to be that simple as a spooned coin, butI hope to find out once pictures are up.
Thank you,
Bruce
