I just purchased some 1971s Eisenhower dollars, they were advertised as being solid silver and not silver clad. This guy said they were a special strike. I have scoured the net and can't find anything that states there was a special silver strike other than the 40% strike. Help?! |

The 71s was struck in 40% silver composition.

As far as I know there were only Silver Clad Ikes ever issued by the mint. I think the seller is misrepresenting the coins.

Hmm...I hope he didn't base his price on some fictitious silver content. If this was an ebayer, you should mention this transaction under Ebay: discouraged sellers |

Thanks ya'll I am going to ask the seller kindly to clairify his words and if he still sticks to them being "silver" and "not clad" I am gonna call him out to a good ole fashined dule  |

if it was an ebay auction check to see about a return policy. if it was not clearly stated then you have every right to return them. Please post the link to the auction so we can check it out |

If you used Paypal, you can contest it. This deceptive description should be easy to prove. I am 3 for 3 on Paypal disputes.

Im not sure what posting a link to the auction will or can do to make a difference at this point ,,
the auction has completed ,, If it contains a return policy then the buyer can return the coins as not as described and get his money back depending on His payment method .
The Ikes were not minted in solid silver ever ,they are silver clad or copper nickel clad coins ,,the weight would be needed to pin down one composition or the other .

The seller states a 14 day return policy ,,If your not happy with them send them back .
as to the wording of the ad ,,I don't see where He called them solid silver ,He referred to them as bullion and as silver Ikes ? Which in essence they can be considered since they do contain silver and have a value above the normal CuNi clad Ikes .

The listing says the seller has a 14-day, money-back return policy. If you're not happy with your purchase, try contacting them and ask them to honor the policy. Have you given it a shot?

The seller is a psychologist, (among other things). the way he worded the info, tends to lend credence to the idea thatMorgans, peace, and IKE's are silver. NOT!I have the whols Ike series, and there is NO silver IKES! 40% silver PLATING, yes, but that is where it ebds. I do not refer to nor includede the proof. It is liken to putting a lemon on one endm a grapefruit on the other end, and oranges in between. The onlty thing they have in common is they are citrus, and in the case of the Morgan, peace, and Ike is they are "dollars. If you don't like them, get your money back, and finsd another seller with a bit more integrety!
