Can anyone give me a good source for information about Encased Cents (or Encased Coins of any denomination)?

Possibly this topic has already been raised.

You have probably seen these. Typically a 1 cent coin encased in a ring of aluminum with advertising/ names on one side and some slogan (like "good luck") on the other side.

I have a few of these but am trying to get a few more. Before I dip my toes too deeply, I would like to have a sense of the parameters of quality, cost, availability, etc.

I assume that someone has made a catalogue at some point.

Very affordable, many varieties, great gifts!

Links are out there, search Encased Collectors International, for instance.

There are many hundreds of thousands produced during the last hundred years. There are lots of different shapes, too. Not all are just round.

I would strongly suggest that you narrow down your hunt. Such as only one state, or a type of merchant, or a date range for Encased Coin, or something like that.

Otherwise, you can spend a zillion bucks and still not have them all.

By Googling " Encased Cents" (use quotation marks), I got a number of hits. With regard to the subject question, the first one looks quite promising:

Good luck!

OK, Thanks!

I guess that I will have a bit of digging to do.

I missed this post at the outset. Oriole, are you still looking at these? I am quite keen on them.
