That big dot in the center is the diagnostic. Chinese fakes were made from the same hub, which had that dot. Genuine coins also have a dot in the center, but it is usually much smaller and finer, not large and fat like the one here.
Actually, the main diagnostic is the fact the 'dies' used to make that blatant fake do not match at all the obverse and reverse dies of the genuine JR-1, 1811/09.

True, but I don't know the diagnostics of the varieties of genuine coins off-hand. I have to rely on other things, such as that fat dot which is present on all dates of Chinese fake CB dimes.
