I got one as change this weekend when I bought popcorn at a movie theater.

Maybe when I CRH for Wheat cents and I get a full box of new cents, I'll look for greasers.

Nice! It looks kind of strange with the mintmark.

Is it just me or is the 7 set lower than the rest of the numbers. It appears to be both below the top edge lint of the other digits, and extend well below the bottom line as well. The 210 are all even across the top and bottom but the 7 is distinctly low.

Quote: Is it just me or is the 7 set lower than the rest of the numbers. It would appear so. In fact, the entire 2017 date looks like it's trending downward from left to right. We'll need to see some photos of other P cents to compare.

I made a picture comparison of yours and another one I found online and yours looks very different. I'm not sure if I didn't submit the post right (just had baby, no sleep) or if it was taken down since I was not the photographer. If it was the later, I apologize for that and won't do it again. In any case, I think yours might be a variety

mellamobradley46, it appears that your comparison was posted in the '2017 coins in circulation' thread. Congratulations on your new baby!

My brother-in-law told my wife that he went to the coin guy at the flea market yesterday. He said the new Phila cents will have a "P" mintmark, that they will be selling for $3.50 a roll. And .... I have not read it here on the CCF forum or heard it anywhere else but my brother-in-law may have been misinformed that this is the last year that they are making the Lincoln cent and that is why the "P" is put on it. Is there any truth to that? I say good riddance, there's enough of them around. But take it from the flea market dealer for what that's worth. He's not the director of the mint.

I was on ebay looking at the 2017 and ended up buying a bunch of clad Kennedy's. I have three Kennedy collections running and of course I was short on most of the Philly coins,

Is there any truth to that? I would love it to be true, at least for circulation cents, but it is probably just speculation at best.
