It is probably worth $9 for the entertainment value.

I wonder how thick the gold is? I have seen these kind of notes before, and they are really a layer of gold on paper.

I have a Zimbabwe gold "plated" note and it's just that (and what oriole said), a note with a layer of gold on it. Like the one you are considering, it wasn't much $$ so there can't be a whole lot of gold in there.

So long as you enjoy it, that's what matters! However, I agree with oriole and CelticKnot - don't overpay as there isn't a lot of gold there.
