Help With This Grosz Please - Coin Community Forum

throughtheireyes Valued Member 477 Posts	Posted 02/20/2017 03:19 am I bought this a while back and forgot to write down the info I was told about it. I believe it's a Polish Grosz. My guess is one Grosz, but I'm completely unfamiliar with the system. Obv: SIGIS:III.D.G.REX.POL.D.PR. = Sigismund III by the Grace of God King of Poland and Duke of Prussia Rev: GROSSVS.CIVI:GEDANENSIS.1624 = Grosz / Groschen, City of Gdansk / Danzig, 1624. Krause lists $16 in VG and $55 in VF. I would grade yours gF-aVF or possibly a full VF with the corollary that the planchet is notched. Be careful not to bend it or press on it firmly as it is probably quite brittle.
