Wow, those are all great! I especially like that Pan-Am expo ticket. Those political convention tickets are very appealing too.

I have some historic baseball tickets in my collection, but they don't go as far back as yours do. Very nice. Thanks for sharing.

Sales tax SCRIP and tickets from the 1933-1936 period, primarily from Washington and Illinois, but also including Pennsylvania, California, Ohio, North Carolina, West Virginia, and a number of other states commonly fall in to the $100-300 price range for R-8 to R-10 rarity examples. R-6 and R-7 rarities will still sell in the $35-70 price ranges, too. Although the common state issued sales tax tokens are much more frequently encountered, most of those hold little value. The cardboard and paper issues (with some exceptions, primarily from Ohio) can be quite valuable. I just sold 19 duplicates for $4450 which quickly became a NGC 64 Lafayette dollar, 1943 and 1945 Walking Liberty halves, both in NGC MS-67, a 1937-D Walker in NGC 65, a 1935-S Peace dollar with rare NICE toning in NGC 64, and a few MS-70 and PF 70 ASE's that I needed for my extended set. Sales tax SCRIP and tickets are highly sought by numerous specialists. |

Mayflower, I have the full set of 6 engraved tickets from the 1893 Columbian World's Fair. I'll post the others when I have some time for scanning.
I'd love to see your baseball game tickets. And if other members want to share their Cat Stevens or Frank Sinatra concert tickets, post away!

I don't collect tickets as such but my parents were press photographers and I have these two tickets from their attendance at the 1948 Democratic and Republican Conventions, both held in Philadelphia that year.   |

Wow, such great pieces of history. 1948, the year of the Truman surprise! As far as baseball tickets, I too would like to see some. I have the 1995 Mariner Yankee playoff game ticket, in which Edgar Martinez hit his famous double to score Ken Griffey Jr and send those dastardly Yankees home. If I can find it, I will post it. I also have a ticket to the 1940 Democratic convention, that I will have to retrieve from my safety deposit box.

Always looking to add to my 1893 World's Fair Ticket set. I don't have the Ben Franklin, or Handel ticket, but the four others; Washington, Lincoln, Columbus and the Native American. Correct me if there is more, besides the one day special cities passes. The others are cool as well. May have to look into this field more.

Pennywise, thank you for posting your tickets and badges! I have a bedraggled 1940 convention ticket and your post answers some questions about it. Like yours, it was punched numerous times, as the attendee came and went. And it also says "Ticket must be accompanied with official badge." Now I know what those badges looked like!   |

Here is a ticket to the 1940 Democratic convention. The 1936 ticket had FDR's picture on it, but this one did not since (I guess) they were not absolutely sure he would run for a third term.  |
