C/A is a dealer in the broadest sense of the word though you are correct they are not listed as an RCM Numismatic dealer on the mint.ca. I don't know the process for getting that listing - I assume there is a process and a fee - but would be interested in knowing if anyone has direct knowledge.

Despite that, C/A clearly has a relationship with the Mint that allows them to buy at wholesale prices - otherwise they would not be able to sell at issue price - and therefore, to some degree they have to play by whatever rules the Mint comes up with including selling/publication embargos. Posting on a 'members only' page that is basically available to all registered customers would seem like a pretty obvious contravene of 'the rules'.

Oddly, C/A is listed on mint.ca as a registered Bullion DNA Dealer.

I asked them a couple years ago at the Guelph show and the owners said they weren't RCM dealers due to too much bs, but in reality they have become a decent size unofficial dealer. I think they get their stuff from Winnipeg

As for May release - fewer coins could mean far larger spectacular release for June leading up to Canada Day...

I visited the CA web site last evening and came across the listing for the new Limited Edition SD and noticed that it featured images of the actual coin. The images have certainly raised my opinion of the design aesthetics of the SD (vs. the artist renderings on the RCM web site).

I'm looking forward to receiving my set and examining the coin firsthand.

@MoneyPenney

Thank you for letting us know. I did order the 5 Captain Star Trek coin when RCM first released it and I am glad that I did because it will go will go with the Star Trek 2 stamps and the framed print with Pane of 5 stamps (5 captains) that I purchased from Canada Post for 69.95. I did not order the borg coin with mintage of 10,000. I will wait for Bromberg to package that with something else later on.
Rest in Peace

I've ordered the 5 captains from Colonial Acres, and to my surprise, as I am a member there, the price was less than issue. I did however have to pay their usual $7.50 shipping (+tax on the shipping) to come to a total that is only $4 above list. Not too bad. Thank you C/A

Have to admit, the 150 silver dollar set looks pretty good under the TSC studio lights.

@CC Ottawa

I ordered the set from RCM. I like the big red 150 over the coin.

The SD is nice and so are the proofs of the other 2017 coins.

Might twist my arm enough to order it. lol

That elk though. Not my idea of a coin or art.

I have purchased the silver proof set as well with "Miss Canada" through RCM. The coins that Bromberg displayed last night were beautiful. The item I bought was the 5 item set he displayed with the 1967 proof like set, the two new 2017 coloured set, the 5 new 2017 non coloured set, the 1967 one dollar and that 1992 souvenir sheet for 218.00 plus tax. I thought it was nicely displayed.

Also, June 30th should be marked on our calendars according to Bromberg for the coin show. A rep from the RCM will be on with him to showcase something that has never been done before. I wonder if the MC members will get the advance on these items prior to the june 30th show.
Rest in Peace

I hope so, as it's supposed to be part of our agreement - 2,3,4 days advance notice prior to public release... putting on a tv show is most certainly 'public' release.
