Focusing on the word "WE", I noticed some kind of doubling on the "E", and extra filling on the "W". Common? Report this Post to the Staff

Are there any other doubling of this type to the rest of the devices? I personally would keep the coin just for the significance of the triple MD & to use as a reference. pyrbob Rest in Peace United States 1943 Posts	Posted 05/15/2008 06:23 am It doesn't make sense to me that the letter E would be doubled ( mechanical or otherwise) that much but nothing around it is. I think the letter E has a die chip just like the letter W. The shape of the chip at the E makes it look like doubling. Just my personal thought. Report this Post to the Staff

This die is rather well known among cent hunters, first discovered a couple of years ago. It's not a doubled die, it's not Machine Doubling, it's a simple curiosity.
