I was having a look at the
RCM's April releases this evening and was knocked out by one coin in particular - the $100 10-ounce silver coin
The Angel of Victory: 100th Anniversary of the First World War Armistice coin.
IMO, it is the hands-down most outstanding offering of the month's releases.
The coin is based on the fabulous sculpture created by the London-born sculptor Coeur de Lion McCarthy. The statue was commissioned in 1921 by the Canadian Pacific Railroad to honor its employees who answered the call of war and made the ultimate sacrifice in World War I. CPR installed three copies of the statues, one each in Montreal, Winnipeg and Vancouver.

The perspective is terrific and the coin looks great (IMO).
For those who are curious about Ms. Young.
She is an illustrator in Vancouver, British Columbia. She has designed a number of coins for the
RCM. Here's a link to her web site page that illustrates her previous designs:
Pandora Young Coin DesignsUnfortunately for me, the 10-ounce silver coin's issue price of $1,000 takes it well beyond what I am willing to spend on modern NCLT silver coinage. If the
RCM offers the design on a SD later this year, however, I will be a quick buyer! (I would even be willing to break my SD habit and go for a larger one-ounce 38mm coin!)
