A few interesting items.
Those that caught my eye include:
1. Coloured Classic Coin set in actual size. In other words, instead of the 5 oz Big coins we get them in actual size. $199 for set of 6 plus bonus medallion. Mintage 7000.
2. First stamp shaped coin. Picture of Parliament Building on it. $139. Mintage of 5000.
3. Another Superman coin in the shaped of the shield. It is a $100 coin with mintage of 1000. Cost is $1049. The coin is called DC Comic Bronze Age Heroes with group picture of Superman, the Flash, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc. Edited by MoneyPenney 07/25/2018 02:34 am

Thanks MoneyPenny. Another set of coloured coins. I prefer select gold plating to the colouring. But 6 coins plus a medallion for $199 isn't that bad of a price from the RCM. I wonder how many more Superhero and Star Trek coins are still to come? My rep has a big announcement tomorrow morning for an Aug release. Apparently people been buzzing on coin forums online about it. I don't know what foruum online. I wonder if it might be that $100 DC Comic coin you mentioned?

Thank you, MoneyPenney, for the info! Quote: They are the same denominations as the coloured Big Coins So this is basically, similar to annual set, but coloured and not traditional proof and instead the Silver Dollar, there is a medallion. Are the coins come in separate capsules, or all united in the common holder?

The new Superman coin is similar to this one. Same size and weight. Except for the picture of DC Super Heroes on it. The new stamp shaped coin uses this 1927 stamp design of the Parliament Building.

I remember several years back when a "New" release of coins came out, there was excitement and a real Buzz in the air. I don't see it anymore.

I collect all loonies, toonies, and more recently 50c coins in mint state, specimen, and proof varieties -- both circulating and non-circulating. I stay away away from any oversized varieties of these coins such as the big coin series. If in fact this new set matches the size of the current circulating coins, I'm tempted to pick one up to add to my collection.

In current situation, at the time of the details of new release are coming out, and other resource has last post 5 days ago....means really the things are down. That's sad truth. We are even do not asking for details. Btw, same thing about Perth and RM releases. Looks like a lot attention dragged small mints, and the latest trend are UHR coins with antique finish.

There are a couple on ebay, and one is listed at issue price. P.S. Congratulations on your new bundle of joy!

Thanks to ebay, I was able to see the specs for the silver medal in the colourised "Classic Coin" set - it has been struck on the traditional 36mm planchet typically reserved by the RCM for its silver dollars; the medal appears to fit perfectly in the Mint's standard silver dollar proof set case. I believe this is only the second time the 36mm SD planchet has been used for a commemorative medal - the first being the 1983 piece commemorating the Royal Visit of Charles and Diana. I'd like to add the medal to my SD collection, but am having a hard time justifying spending $199 CAD for the full set - I don't collect the other coins in the proof set. Maybe I'll go the route of finding a dealer or ebay seller who broke up the set and is selling the pieces individually.
