Quote: It looks like the astronaut is hanging off the side of the dollar, about to fall off a cliff. But I guess he's supposed to be sitting? In zero G there is no "Up" or "Down" having the astronaut upside down reminds you of that. It's a different environment than what we are used to. And for fine movement around on the outside of the ship you move around using your hands. So it makes sense that he is holding onto an edge like that.

I like coin, and the dollar coins especially. Nothing would make me happier than an announcement by our government that they stopped making the dollar bill and the penny, then releasing all these golden looking dollars that they are storing out into circulation.
It's bit amusing to see these dollars went the way of the morgan (at the time), sitting in bank vaults for many years.

Way too busy. Concealing a mathematical equation in the thruster cloud? The designer, more so the individual who gave final approval, is about as sharp as a bowling ball.

It's nice, but so weird with all the stuff they added to it.

It is interesting that the design goes all the way to the edge of the coin. Of course these are just artist renditions. It will be interesting to see what the actual coin looks like.
I suspect not as good.

I'm guessing the other two stars might be Castor and Pollux.

It seems that our mint and congress have learned nothing by issuing yet again another dollar coin series that is doomed to failure. I will have nothing to do with these coins until the date and MM are returned to the obverse. I think reeded coins would be more interesting on dollars.

They learned to make them NIFC and limit the mintage accordingly. Doomed for failure? Not for their intended purpose. I give them a C+ or maybe a B-. Now, if they want an A they need to kill the one dollar note and let these guys circulate. Also moving the date and mint mark to the obverse will get them that A+.

I can't wait to get my hands on these and spread them far and wide.
