Once again, the mint is trying way too hard to satisfy way too many political agendas. Remember how much everyone (except me) hated the SBA? Makes me wish for those good ol' days. It is not. @jbuck To clarify: by "satisfy way too many political agendas" I meant that including certain themes on a coin is meant to satisfy political agendas. Sorry for the confusion. I believe that the date and mintmarks were moved to the rim back in 2009, and I'm not sure if that was legislated by Congress or if that was a design choice by the Mint to accommodate the themes legislated by Congress. I'm sure someone here has a copy of the press release...? For now, I'll blame the Mint, but feel free to correct me. Report this Post to the Staff
