Can we have better images?

I can tell you that what you have is a normal cent, nothing special.

If it actually looks doubled all it is is probably shelf Machine Doubling. Either way, it's a spender.

A mintmark is incuse on the die. Raised on the coins. When it is the same level as the field it is usually not a mintmark punch but often a stain or a contact mark.

There were a few 1956-D RPMs that was not part of the mintmark:
1987-D-Penny-2-Mintmarks
1987-D-Penny-2-Mintmarks
1987-D-Penny-2-Mintmarks
1987-D-Penny-2-Mintmarks
1987-D-Penny-2-Mintmarks
1987-D-Penny-2-Mintmarks
Strange year for this. There is a 1959-D RPM that also fits into this category:
1987-D-Penny-2-Mintmarks
Also a 1958-D:

1987-D-Penny-2-Mintmarks
But most of the time the RPMs are on the mintmarks.
