Received this from a bullion dealer as a random date coin selection. Any grade opinions appreciated.

Looks like a low eye appeal EF, much better than what I would consider a bullion piece

New pics. The close ups do not show the color, but the first 2 are representative of color.

I'll say AU-53. Sounds like a good deal.

Cool you got a Type 2 for a bullion piece. Looks AU to me too.

Tough one since the coin is a bit dirty and is very weakly struck. I would say at least AU-53. I don't think gold tones so you might be able to improve the surfaces with some light conservation.

Just some rubbing from bank to bank use. AU-55, possibly 58.

I did my own "conservation". A damp towel pat down, and the surface dirt came right off. Looks better. Any chance this might get a MS-6X designation?

I would have left it as is. Looked better IMO. Technical grade AU50-53 to me.

Obverse clearly has some rub so I think mid-AU is the right grade. Wouldn't surprise me to see it in a 58 holder though. The reverse looks MS which makes a strong case for high AU.
