Quote: Similar to others for the date, splits on both serifs can be seen on this repunched mint mark. So you might check yours to see if it is from that die? Not at auction, but at coin shows and BIN on ebay. It's just a peculiar minor error that catches some people's fancy which gives it the premium, as it really isn't much of an error. Other similar coins draw similar prices from this date, although I think 1952-S has more of them. Report this Post to the Staff
