I agree with bonedigger that the net grade will be around VF+ grade. I Don't think they gave him a fair market value because it would be based on his coin and only his coin and since he never sent it back to NCS to make sure that the slab was not opened or to check if they might have possibly made a mistake, how can they make him a offer that they would have to stand by, with out checking it first? would you? If he don't send it back to them he will never collect a dime towards any lose he in cured if a mistake was made by NCS. and like mentioned before if the slab is opened by another grading company it will in all likelihood void any liability with NCS. A microscope which they have will detect if this coin has a altered date and if so then he has one or two choices accept there offer, no matter what it is or take them to court and sue them for damages. Which he would have to proof its a fake by a reputable TPG serves and that would be PCGS. Which all of this will cost him a lot more then the cost of the coin and NCS has the money to drag this out for a very long time, there reputation is on the line. His only real way out of this is to bring it to NCS and watch them check the coin Like I mentioned before. and I don't think everybody here thinks this coin is a fake how can they?

Read there guarantee. If I sent the coin to NCS there FMV is binding. They can say the coin is worth $ and I wont be able to appeal. There no way this coin is getting into NCS hands until I have a FMV from them that not a joke. I can tell NCS just wants to avoid this situation, instead of talking to me and trying to resolve this problem.
I had the coin checked. It is fake. I will have it in Mississauga next weekend for the Polish coin show there to get it checked by a few more people. Although I don't think that is gonna change anything. One of NCS reps should be at this show.

I was gonna skip my grading, but since you ask ... I certainly don't know what the standard is for this coin type but for general condition, my guess would be yes, I think it is about VF with XF detail at best. There is wear and there are many numerous nicks, and a mention of it being cleaned. This is only from the image I can see in this forum string. So it is my guess.

I must say this is the first zloty I have ever seen. The story line is intriguing however so here goes my grade. EF Details - Net Grade VF30. Sounds like you might have the chance to show this coin to an NCS rep next week? Maybe you can arrange a meeting in advance? It may already have been mentioned but: What did you pay for this coin?

WOW!That's over $9,600 USD! I'd be looking for the seller pretty hard. There is little chance of recovering close to that amount from any TPG.

Quote: $12000 Canadian. Wow! I'll never be such a risk-taker (or that wealthy) to drop that $$$$ without knowing the seller, having a physical address, and a return policy. But that's all been covered before in some 7 pages. But that's not a critique--and I wish you a favorable resolution. Quote: I'd be looking for the seller pretty hard. With that much at stake, I'd hire somebody to do a manhunt--because I'm not sure I'd enjoy the people I would otherwise meet. Send in someone like Jack Bauer.

$12000 cad over year ago. The Polish zloty was a bit more expensive.
I think NCS, and NGC should change there guarantee, because they don't tell the truth in it.
Here is the gaurantee:
2. STATEMENT OF GUARANTEE: Subject to the limitations set forth in this NCS Authenticity Guarantee, NCS guarantees the authenticity of any coin that is submitted to NCS for Authentication and that NCS subsequently examines and deems "Authentic". A coin is deemed "Authentic" if NCS returns the coin to the submitter in an NCS protective holder bearing the words "Guaranteed Authentic."
the letter I got from NCS states: The letter is to serve notice that if you choose to not send the coin and holder to NGC for review, you agree to assume any and all potential liability associated with its misrepresentation
Which total disagrees with what the wrote in there guarantee.
3. EXCLUSIVE REMEDY: In the event that the owner of a coin that has been deemed Authentic by NCS believes that the coin is not authentic, such person may submit the coin to NCS for "Authentication Review". If the coin is determined under such review by NCS not to be authentic, then owner shall first attempt to reverse transaction if possible or NCS may also elect to pay such owner an amount equal to the difference between the lower of the submitter/owner's purchase price or fair market value for the coin if the coin were authentic, and the current market value of the coin based upon what NCS believes, in its sole opinion, to be reliable current market information. NCS' subjective determination of fair market value and current value shall be binding on all parties.
Bonedigger I don't appreciate you putting the picture up there. If you think I'm not telling the truth find me one that is for sale for less money. To prove the coin isn't worth that much.

I shall remain quiet no more. I don't get what the rub is here. Of course you send the coin back to NCS. What are you afraid they are going to do once they get it? Also, don't be surprised if they are leery of you. I'm sure people try to scam them on a regular basis. By dragging your heels, you look suspicious. By demanding a settlement without them investigating the slab, you look more suspicious. The fact that you spent $12,000 on a coin and never kept any records of the transaction...that's right suspicious. Where is the customs paperwork for this coin? I would assume you would have to declare a $12,000 coin. Did you throw that out too? It seems to me that NCS is making a reasonable effort to hold up their end of the bargain. It seems to me that you are being unnecessarily difficult. Incidentally, I've been saying for years that TPG grading on foreign coins is absurd. Sure they can grade Morgans, they've seen thousands of them. I do not feel, however, that they are knowledgeable enough to apply these same standards to any coin that rolls through their doors.

Machaj, I have a feeling you are learning a lesson here the hard way. I will not preach to you since it seems you have already been given the third degree. A note as a staff member, this WILL remain civil towards members here. Now, on to my thoughts. In reading your quotes from NCS, it seems as though you just need the receipt for the transaction, and to submit the coin back to them. Regardless of how old the purchase was, unless you paid with cash and received nothing from the seller, a receipt for purchase should be somewhere. Credit card statement, Paypal, anything. From there you should be able to find the seller and maybe even ask for another receipt. I agree with Snowmans post pretty much in its entirety. The longer you delay, the more suspicious your actions look. At this point you have a coin worth a few dollars that you paid a lot of money for. What is the risk with sending it in? I have to believe that the top TPG's have their fair share of stories of scam artists looking to get something past them, and then reaping the rewards on their guarantee. Their guarantee is what it is probably because of their confidence in their graders and authenticators. If they made a mistake, I would believe they will pony up and admit it. Take all of the most recent sales and use that to help identify FMV. Again, I think delaying this will only hurt you. You have purchased something raw that is worth most than most people's collections. I wish you luck.
