Hi all, bought x2 2021 American Innovation $1 4 Coin Proof Sets that I received recently and noticed left of the PH engravers initials on both the North Carolina and only these two coins a indent. These are still in the packaging and both straight from the USmint. Appears too be no issues anywhere else on both coins. Should I send back to the USmint or keep? Having problems with microscope transferring pics and only could get these two pics before it spat a dummy..

Strange to see "digs" that are very similar on two different coins...maybe a piece of debris was on the die during the minting process.
I would keep it as an oddity and order a few more to see if there are any others.

Oddly similar but clearly not identical.

Could have been something that stuck to the die, was struck, then the second one was showing as weaker. Possible dropped letter debris that could have cause this to happen?

While interesting, probably not enough to command a large (any?) premium.

I have a 2021 Morgan dollar with a similar swirl gouge. I'm wondering how it could happen in the minting process. Doesn't look like a strike through, but I suppose it could be.
