Hello all, I have A 1983 P with a normal obverse but the reverse is loaded with Die Cracks. There are 7 Die Cracks and 1 small Die Chip so plenty to look at.
Starting with the left bottom at One Cent, there is a Die Crack from the O to the N and down to the Rim. Next is the continuous Crack from the E to the C to the E in Cent down to a small Die Chip to the Rim. Then we have a Die Crack to the east foundation of the Memorial with a split run up to column 12. That run goes up the right column to the right roof and across to America between the R & I to the Rim. And last but not least, two Die Cracks to the T & E of United from the west roofs to the letters to the Rim. I am slightly blind from looking at this coin so take a look and let me know your thoughts and Regards!
All events that happen to an aging die. This looks like it could be the original die marriage. But when dies need replacing, it happens. They try to match up dies of the same die state, but sometimes that is not always available. (sound familiar?)
