1946 P Lincoln Wheat Cent Retained Struck Thru?

What ever it is seems soft and sticks up a bit above the surface of the coin when I look at it from the side. If it is, what should I do with the coin? Report this Post to the Staff

ijn1944 Bedrock of the Community United States 19277 Posts	Posted 08/31/2022 10:14 pm Interesting. Just to help determine what that feature might be, suggest a long soak in 100%acetone. If that 'thing' is tar, dried oil, etc, it should come off. If not, then other possibilities remain. Report this Post to the Staff

sheldius Pillar of the Community United States 1204 Posts	Posted 09/02/2022 10:24 pm After 24 hour soak it looked pretty much the same, but I thought that one side might have lifted up slightly. I managed to pop it out with very little force and there is a scratch that appears to travel underneath the area. So just some very hard and sticky gunk I guess. Report this Post to the Staff
