Just received two photos of a coin that someone is wanting to sell to me. This is way out of my field and would like opinions on it please. I personally think it looks ok but not sure. The guy is happy to let me have it for a few days to take it somewhere to have it checked out but I wouldn't know where to take something like this. It measures 10mm but he didn't give me the weight.
*Update, He has brought it to me so I have it in hand now.
It does indeed measure 10 mm & the weight is 1.67 grams

Not my area, and I could be mistaken (I don't have the time to check this), but shouldn't the Macedon AV's with AΛEΞAN below the reverse bow (and ΔPOY below the club) have Athena obverses? I thought the AV's with Heracles/lion skin headdresses for the obverses have ΦIΛIΠΠOY (Philip) reverses.

If I am correct, this would be a red flag. Another would be the fact that the reverse die appears to have been cut for a larger denomination.

The more I look at it and look at similar coins online, the more I dislike it Bob.
Think I will pass on it.
Thank you.

On BIG purchases I either have to know the seller, 100% know the coin, or it needs to be certified. Lower end purchases I'd take a chance.
