Picked from an ebay auction, a very nice example of a triple RPM War Nickel. Listed on Wexler as a Best of RPM, 1942-P 5˘ WRPM-002, and on Variety Vista as 1942-P 5˘ RPM-007. The clearest marker is the unusual die gouge running through RIBU of Pluribus.

Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Thanks, guys. =)
I did a little more research. Turns out that NGC attributes this variety as VP-008. Not that I had planned on having the coin slabbed, but I thought that was worthy of note.

Is that also a DDR? Or do they typically looked doubled?
