What a fun collection you are developing! You have a good eye for coins that fit your collection. Thank you for sharing the journey with the rest of us. It's fun seeing the heart of collecting in action. I've missed seeing it during this coins-as-investments era.

There is a fun side-quest you could add to your collection for not much money. There is a well-known series of contemporary counterfeits that circulated side-by-side with genuine coins for many years.

The best known and most readily available contemporary counterfeit date is 1921. A little bit like Henning with his nickel, this counterfeiter apparently realized at some point that passing too many counterfeits with the same date could attract attention. The counterfeiter then made 1916 and 1928-S counterfeits, but his next date was a *little bit* of a problem: 1915. These counterfeits aren't expensive and the 1921 is quite easy to find, but the others will take some effort. There may be other counterfeited dates as well. All are cast counterfeits with silver plated base metal composition.

That's really interesting, I didn't know about them. I'll keep an eye out for one of those at my next coin show!

Just found your post CB. You are in for quite a journey, believe me. No other coin draws my attention more than Walkers.
I completed my 7160 about 3 yrs. ago and since then worked on upgrading the set. The first page, 1916-1921S has not been budget friendly. Especially as I no longer work and have to survive on a limited fixed income.
My 39-47D are all MS from 62 to a couple 66. They were affordable. Page one MS no way, especially these days. The elusive 1917 obv. S in any grade hard to even find.
I currently have an 11 coin set of all 1917's, 18's, and 19's available. Ones I have upgraded. As well as 23's and up.
Most of the 40's are gone as I dumped them first when melt exceeded value. I have around 70 Walkers over here and would be glad to help you in your endeavor. The vast majority still retain numismatic value that most people do not appreciate.
I use daily Greysheet values @ wholesale prices plusstore fees and shipping. But not for members here. A fair price and a postage stamp works for me in this group, that has brought me so far along in my journey.
Those clean sharp rims are the ticket one page one for sure.
PM me. Perhaps I can explore the member buyers and traders forums which I have never done.
Heck, I will even offer you some freebies.
I am currently contemplating liquidating my complete Morgan collection (minus 1893S) to upgrade my page one Walkers. I really dig the Walkers. That why it is on ASE.
Good luck brother. I will happily follow you progress on this journey.

Thank you Dowhat, that is very kind!

My last pickup from the regional coin show earlier this year was a surprise: this lovely 1921-S PCGS VG-08. It will remain in its slab. Just the 1921 left for me to complete that year's key date trifecta.

I am inspired by your journey and look forward to your progress.
If I can help it along in any way, I will.
You can fill that 21 spot with this one temporarily on me if you are interested and move on to the next one. One that I upgraded is yours to keep you moving forward.
PM me if interested.
