Upon looking through a box marked $5 each, I found several commemorative coins of Elvis, and some other coins that didn't interest me. Then I found these 2...  I looked them up in my Red Book when I got home. Am I looking at the price correctly? I figured the quarters would be about $1 each. I think I was wrong. Can someone please tell me the value of this $10 purchase? edit: okay, the picture came out a little small. It's a 1999s silver proof set (9 pieces). Edited by SJUHawks

Well, it was$5 for each of the cases. Cost me $10 total. Can you tell me the value of this. I must be reading the wrong thing, b/c it says $350 or some such nonsense. Is that right?

If that is legitimately a 1999 full silver proof set, at least around $250-300. So yes, you STOLE that.
EDIT: might be a little less without COA, nice box, etc

OMG, now I feel terrible. I remember buying a 2000s proof quarter a few months ago for $1 on ebay. I figured this was about the same thing, which is why I bought the set. I then bought the other 4 pieces b/c I thought it would go nicely with the quarters. They had the gold-plated quarter sets for $5 too. I didn't like those as much. These were much nicer. Now I know why. |

and yes, no box or COA. Just the 2 plastic containers with coins.

Yes! If you haven't gotten it yet, the 1999+2000 silver proof sets has some (I never understood why) massive demand, and the going price is around $200-$300! So does the garage sale have anything else for sale?  |
