I've got a 1966 SMS Lincoln Cent (Red) and it's been graded somewhere between MS 68 and MS 70. I'm going to have NGC slab it so I know for sure what the grade is. But if I decide to sell it at some point, I will need a realistic price, which is where my confusion comes in. Numismedia prices an MS 68 at $175 and an MS 69 at $910. But PCGS has prices for a 1966 SMS RD at $8, $10, $25, $40, $55, $200, and $2,500. The grade categories for the SMS, G1 through G7, are confusing. I have no idea what they mean and I would like to know what grades are attached to the PCGS prices of $200 and $2500. The NGC pops are not currently showing at Heritage but I would assume they are similar. I am not really sure what is up with the PCGS guide for the SMS cents, it looks like a glitch. The $200 value should be for SMS-68 and the $2500 value should be for the single example of an SMS-69(it was last auctioned by Heritage in 2001 for $862.50). |

I'm not sure who graded it. Could be several different people. NGC will settle it. I'll post photos if I get some free time.
It has Full Steps, if that helps any.

i went to the page you linked and I think it is a miss print it should read PL 61-70 or MS 61-79 or PR 61-70

What is a SMS cent? If I don't ask I'll never learn and I had seen that somewhere else lately Thanks

It's part of a special mint set. They made Special Mint Sets from 1965-1967. And there are no mintmarks on any coins from 1965-1967. Hope this helps.
