I found it in my uncles collection he bought it as real but we are not sure

is it real or counterfeit ?

silver or not?

Hi, foinikas, welcome to the forum!
This is one yen dated Meiji year 36 (AD 1903) - both pics are pretty much upside down.
It is supposed to be .900 (or 90%) silver, the fineness is stated right on the coin.
Whether it's genuine it is hard to judge by small pictures. You can start with the weight, it should be 26.96 g (a little less with wear).

Enlarge the pixel size to about 600x600...right now it is about 145x145
