Canada 5 Cents 1926: Near 6 Or Far 6?

Peter4805 Pillar of the Community Canada 987 Posts	Posted 11/10/2012 7:57 pm I bought this coin tonight at an online auction for US $11.50. In the auction listing it was described as a 1926 near 6 nickel, but I'm not so sure. In my Charlton catalogue the near 6 coin has the tip of the 6 almost touching the leaf. To me, the coin I bought more closely resembles the picture of the far 6 coin in the catalogue. Granted, the auction house pictures leave a lot to be desired, but I'm hoping they are good enough to positively ID this nickel. Anyways, if it does turn out to be a near 6 I didn't pay a lot and won't be terribly upset either way. Report this Post to the Staff

I had always been very pleased with it. That is, until last May. A dealer at a local coin show had close to a roll of then that he was offering at under $8.00 each USD. Sigh.
