Bad Picture Vs. "Unsearched"

I know some fall for the "unsearched" rolls but I always fall for the bad picture. What do you think I am going to get? Who knows? I know some IHC from the 80s, 90s, and 1900s and possible older but I have no idea.

I tried enlarging the picture, and still I could not tell any of the dates.

Me too, I tried manipulating the photo using GIMP, an open source photo editor and nothing. I tried enlarging and adjusting the lighting and contrast. I just know they are brown and not orange at least. I hope I get something good.

I believe it's possible from the picture to determine they might be copper.

I like this line on the listing:
"I know there are some from the 1880s, 1890s and 1900s. I think there is some earlier but too hard for me to tell, I don't see that well. "

I think he blocked the dates or something. I zoom in but the dates aren't just there.

I did a search of his completed listings and other coins he sold in the past look the same. I don't think it is doctored, just a cheap camera most likely. Funny, me and someone else actually got in a bidding war over them. Here is a similar listing:

I actually saw a date, it looks like it is an 18 and ends with a seven. I hope it is an 1877 like I think I am seeing. This of course could be just wishful thinking.

My favorite is when someone photographs a single coin sitting on a table from 5 feet away. Doesn't ebay have cropping tools in their upload software?

You can use GIMP to crop an image but also a lot of cameras come with a photo editor don't they? I just scan my coins. I can adjust the resolution to make the images very clear and large. I have posted them here but had to use Photobucket since the size of the files. I have tried using cheap cameras and they didn't work very well.

I got the coins and they weren't too bad at all and the lot included a bonus War Nickel and some Wheat penny marked as a die crack but I and others couldn't find it. Here are some examples. Nothing before 1980 though.

I just can't bring myself to bid on a coin with bad pictures or the so called unsearched lots....

Call me crazy but I like to know what I'm buying

I know it is best to see what you are buying even though it can be a little tough sometimes with lots. I can't seem to resist these bad pics. Here is another one. I think it is at least VG and is cheap enough.
