Here's another, and maybe better, look at the MM.
Thanks for the link. Even though it was about a different coin it was helpful. The photos in the CherryPickers' Guide were not as helpful. There is one with the large S and the other looks like a splat that used to be an S. Since mine didn't look like that splat I thought maybe I had the large S.
There is a bit of toning and/or dirt around the MM and taking another look at that enlarged photo -- I see it isn't much better than the first one. (sigh)
I will try again to get a better photo soon.

I think I will have to find some time to look at it again with the microscope because the coin has normal circulation damage and of course that includes the MM.
