It has a decent macro feature that gets me within 1-2 inches of the subject. As for MDs, I found two so far, but I only went through 1 brick in these past 3 months. coinaki Valued Member United States 207 Posts	Posted 04/30/2013 8:14 pm Jay- I use a 16X wide-angle Erfle eyepiece(from an old telescope)for a quick 30-second glance. The fov just about covers the entire penny. If I spot something peculiar then I check it out with a 28X eyepiece(from an old security camera). Report this Post to the Staff
