The same exact coin is on ebay advertised as small denticles but Iam having a hard time confirming that. This coin is in a bit better shape. I need to know the exact difference between the small and large denticles. I think this is a regular A to the denticle not small. I give it an EF-40 what do you figure?

I'd say large. What I look for is if they look more like a circle than a line, then they're small denticle. But these look like lines, so there're large.

Cheers,

Hi,

I usually look at the spacing between denticles and if I see I can fit easily another 1 or 2 denticles between than they are small otherwise they are large. Of course when the coin is badly worn this theory is out the window . I believe this to be a large because hardly any room to fit another denticle. As for grade sure looks EF-40.

Good luck !!

I also find the small denticles look a bit like a weak strike too. That's how I differentiate them as well
