Is This PMD Or An Error? 87 Morgan - Coin Community Forum

Abhgroup New Member United States 8 Posts	Posted 08/23/2013 9:57 pm Hey, I bought this coin off of the bay a few days ago based on some questionable photographs. From what I could tell the coin looked fine. After examining it tonight I noticed that the letters od w are nearly gone. The spot where they should be is a bit raised. I looked through most of the popular VAMS for an 87 P but couldn't find anything, so I thought I would ask the community. I've been lurking here for a while soaking in everything I can. chetzler Valued Member United States 206 Posts	Posted 08/27/2013 11:46 pm I came across an 1888 (P) that looked exactly like that. I also suspected that it must have been grease I the die. Funny thing is, it was those exact same letters. There must be something special about that particular area of the reverse. Report this Post to the Staff
