I might have answered my own question, here is another 1922 that I found which appears to be the near rim variety. So I am guessing that the op is a far rim. Anyone agree?

Looks far to me but there are more experienced than I. Here's a link from a past topic on CC that shows a good example of both. Yours look more like the 2nd one to me.

I would call them both far rim, if you see how on the far rim example the end of the upper section of the S doe's not flare, while on the near example it flares wider towards the end. IMO

I feel so stupid, thanks for the link AGhoarder, I apparently asked this same question when I first acquired these two coins. I never marked the 2 x 2. sorry
