My first thought is not a die crack but a die dent or gouge.

A die dent or gouge would look raised on the coin.

My first impression is Feeder Finger Damage on the die but an expert would be able to take a better look.

That's right John1, I misunderstood the (Die) dent/gouge you were referring to. Atlas put me straight, haha.

Yeah, and if I'm not mistaken, I've seen this on more than one on ebay recently.

Looks like a lamination between the rim and the 'straight line' we are seeing, which gives the illusion of something being raised...

The edges look to straight for a lamination to me.
