Hi. I found this 1940 Lincoln Cent in a roll of wheat cents. What am I looking at? The silver-ish metal is top layer of coin and what's with the hole? Lamination issue or PMD? Thanks!!
I've found one very similar back in the 50s.I thought it had been chromed.I put it in one of those folding blue coin books and stashed it away in the late 60s.I haven't seen it since. When I found mine I presumed it was off a bracelet.
my coin club just had presentation on love tokens and sweetheart charms Tuesday the presenter Pete LaComb said lots of towns didn't have jewerly stores so you would carve up coins and give them to your loved ones there might have been a bunch of these then a carved one on a bracelet or necklace to someone it was probably something of meaning
